ICT Group and InMotion extend partnership for three years
- 6 March 2023
Years of cooperation
ICT Group and Inmotion have been working together since 2015, specifically the Motar team of ICT Electronics. Motar is ICT Group's platform for model-based software development for vehicles. With the platform, people with and without programming knowledge can work (together) graphically on a functional model in the familiar MATLAB/Simulink environment. From the Simulink model, the platform automatically and faultlessly generates the corresponding software for the electronic control unit (ECU) of TTTech Auto.
Race car 'The Revolution'
InMotion started building the current race car, The Revolution, in 2019. The car already achieved a top speed of 260 kilometers per hour during tests at Circuit Zandvoort and, according to models, it can even go towards 300 kilometers per hour. Noteworthy is the battery pack, which has the same capacity as a standard Tesla Model 3 (58 kilowatt hours) but charges at least twice as fast, namely in less than twelve minutes. Currently, the InMotion team is working on the next-generation battery pack, aiming to reduce charging time to a few minutes. InMotion's ultimate goal: To be the first in the world to finish the Le Mans 24-hour race fully electric.
Partnership with Inmotion and TTTech Auto
Koen Peppelman, Business Unit manager ICT Electronics (part of ICT Group), is very pleased with the partnership and cooperation with both InMotion and TTTech Auto, supplier of the high-quality ECUs.
"We are excited to contribute to InMotion's goal of making charging as fast as fueling. Being at the forefront of many new developments in the automotive industry, we have successfully developed the Motar platform. The platform helps with the most complex part of innovation processes: generating embedded software for the car's controller (ECU) from the control model. In the case of InMotion, the ECUs are used to control every electronic function in the race car."

Making the world a little greener
InMotion wants to challenge the current automotive industry with the very short charging time of its race car. By demonstrating that the charging time of electric cars can be drastically reduced - and become comparable to refueling a fuel car - they hope to remove the last barrier towards electric driving and make the world a little greener. ICT Group can make an important contribution to this and Hieke van Heesch, Partnership Manager of InMotion, says she is delighted with the partnership:
"InMotion and ICT Group have been working together successfully for many years. The expertise ICT Group has in the field of software and the Motar platform is of great importance for applying improvements in the race car. With the renewal of the partnership, in addition to good support, our engineers will also receive new and high-quality ECUs from TTTech Auto, which will allow us to take important steps in the future."
